17-year-old arrested for shooting mother

John Philip Hebert, 41, a resident of Houma, LA. and a native of Bayou Blue, LA., died at 8:25 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22, 2006.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 8:30 to 10 a.m. funeral time Thursday at New Life Fellowship Church in Bayou Blue. Burial will be in the Rogers Cemetery in Houma.
He is survived by his companion, Helen LaJeunie; one son, Brett Hebert; 3 brothers, Paul, Dale, and Chad Hebert; 5 sisters, Elizabeth and Patricia Elliott, Belita Naquin, Faye Helton, and Nanette Prestenbach.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Julius E. and Isabelle Matherne Hebert and his sister, Julie Naquin.
He was a Methodist, an avid Saints fan, and he loved to fish and hunt.
Samart Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
