John W. Jones Jr., 65, a native of Mansfield and a resident of Gray, La., died Wednesday, January 14.
He is survived by his wife, Ada B. Jones of Gray; four children, Loretta Jones Smith of Salt Lake City, Ut., John ATuTu@ Scott Jones of Uporuim, Ks., Joanice Scott Jones McNeal and husband Chevis of Dallas, Tx., and Gilda Jones of Avondale, La.; five stepchildren, Shirley Madukwe of Nashville, Tn., Sammie Davis of Los Angeles, Ca., Jerome Davis of Marrero, La., Bobbie L. Davis of Los Angeles and Kevin Davis of Savannah, Ga.; five sisters, Mary Jones Sherman and Ruthie Jones Woods of Dallas, Annie Ruth Jones Harris of Diana, Tx., Irma Jones Lavergne and husband Mike and Brenda Jones King of Houston, Tx.; two brothers, Glenn R. Jones and wife Andrea of Jacksonville, Fl., and Ruben Jones of Houston; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Westley Jones Sr. and Annie B. Jones.
He was a member of Moses Baptist Church and served on the Deacon Board.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, January 23, at Moses Baptist Church in Thibodaux, La. The funeral service will be at 7 p.m. at the Church with burial Saturday, January 24, in Grand Cane, La.
Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
