Johnny “Mustard Man” Champagne, 87, a native and resident of Raceland, La., died Wednesday, July 29, at 9:45 a.m.
He is survived by two daughters, Judy Portier and husband Nathan Jr., and Deborah Guidry; two sisters, Emily Ledet and Gertrude Matherne; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lolita C. Champagne; parents, Alcest and Idolia Champagne; one brother, Pierre Champagne; and six sisters, Irma Babin, Beatrice Monier, Vivian Adams, Theresa Aupied, May Dufrene and Octavia Ledet.
He was retired and a parishioner of St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church.
Visitation will be 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, July 31, at St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
