Joseph N. Bourgeois Jr., 73, a native and resident of Lockport, LA., died at 8:56 p.m. Sunday, February 18, 2007.


Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Falgout Funeral Home in Lockport and from 8:30 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport. Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Alice S. Bourgeois; two sons, Joseph N. Bourgeois III and Reed Bourgeois; three daughters, Dana French, Eve Bourgeois and Ann Barker; two brothers, Earl and Robert Bourgeois; four sisters, Margaret Boudreaux, Elvie Richoux, Patricia Fremin and Anne Thibodeaux; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and four step-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parent, Joseph N. Bourgeois and Florence Blouin Bourgeois; one daughter, Deborah Ann Bourgeois; and one brother, Daniel Bourgeois.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the National Quarter Horse Association, Northwestern State University Alumni, and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.

He was a parishioner of Holy Savior Catholic Church.

Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
