Funding cuts felt in Lafourche’s middle schools

Joseph Brown Sr., 86, a native of White Castle, La. and resident of Raceland, La., died Saturday, February 3, 2007.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Saturday at Morning Star Baptist Church in Raceland. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.


He is survived by two daughters, Thelma Johnson and husband, Roy, of Raceland and Charlotte Richard of Raceland; nine grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Clay Brown; his parents, John and Angela Richardson Brown; two sons, Joseph Brown Jr. and Emanuel Stratton; one daughter, Mary Lee Brown; one brother, Olville Julien; and two sisters, Fannie Mae Brown and Henrietta Allen.

He was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church.
