Joseph J. “Joe” Benoit, 71, a native of Lafourche Parish, La., and a resident of Thibodaux, La., died at 4:27 p.m., Thursday, January 22.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Beverly Evans Benoit; three sons, Martin Benoit and wife Tommi Ann of Covington, La., Randy Benoit and wife Melanie of Thibodaux, and Scott Benoit of Thibodaux; six grandchildren, Theresa B. Davis and Matthew, Rachel, Monica, Aaron and Andrew Benoit; two step-grandchildren, Rachel Taylor and Rebecca Gravois; one great-grandson, Jonas Davis; two brothers, Lester and Ervin Benoit; and four sisters, Marie Benoit, Vivian Guillot, Audrey Cavallier and Cecile Duet.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Valcour Benoit and Elda Ponvelle Benoit; four brothers, Ernest, Clarence, Junior “June” and Chester Benoit; and one sister, Agnes Benoit.
Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, January 26, at St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Thibodaux with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
