Joseph “Diamond Joe” Maryland, 74, a native and resident of Terrebonne Parish, La., died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010.
Mr. Maryland was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, a musician and a songwriter.
He is survived by his son, Shoan Lodge; daughters, Sherry (Carlton Sr.) Stadium, Marvel (William) Nichols Jodi Maryland, Tammy Stewart and Sheena (Poleat Sr.); sister, Dimple Commodore; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10 at Community Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 11 at the funeral home with burial to follow at Southdown Cemetery.
