Joseph “Pedick” Lacanbon, 84, a native of Dulac, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Thursday, December 25, at 6:30 a.m.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Verdin Lacanbon; sons, Anthony Lacanbon, Tommy Lacanbon Sr. and wife Penny, Kenneth Lacanbon and wife Melvina, Paul Lacanbon Sr. and wife Juanita, Tony Lacanbon Sr. and companion Rhonda Molliere and Justin Lacanbon; daughters, Yvonne Lacanbon, Diana Verdin and husband Joseph, Barbara Walden, Carolyn Parfait and husband Lloyd, Marion Durden and husband Billy and Rose Schoell and companion Hector; sisters, Rita Lodrigue, Cecil Guidry, Walterine Billiot, Bessie Lodrigue and Donita Lacanbon; 36 grandchildren; and 70 great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Justillian and Florence Lodrigue Lacanbon; brother, Joseph Lacanbon; sisters, Eunise Billiot and Lorraine Parfait; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, December 29, and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, at Samart Funeral Home of Houma. The funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday with burial at Grace Christian Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Samart Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
