Joseph Territa, 97, a native of Assumption Parish, La., died of natural causes Tuesday, Oct. 6.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Henrietta Naquin Territa; one son, Joseph Jr. of Gonzales, La.; three daughters, Virginia and husband Charles Cunningham of Houma, La., Darlene and Brent Montz of Vacherie, La., and Sandra and Linden Richard of Thibodaux, La.; one sister, Mary Landry of Bossier City, La.; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marie Sansoni and Frank Territa of Palermo, Italy; one daughter, Jo Ann and husband Gary Chaisson; two sisters, Rose Bonvillian Solar and Sadie Politz; and three brothers, Dominic, Johnny and Tony Territa.
He loved and was loved by all who knew him. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. To his daughters and granddaughters he was their hero. Joseph was one of the Jehovah’s Witness and belonged to the Thibodaux congregation.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Thibodaux.
Samart Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
