Joseph Anderson Twiner Sr., 76, a native of Bentonia, Miss., and resident of Houma, La., died at 5:50 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011.


Mr. Twiner worked in the oilfield as a fishing tool operator and manager.

He is survived by his daughter, Dessie (Harold) Treadaway; son, Joseph (Mary Elizabeth) Twiner Jr.; eight grandchildren, Wayne (Evelyn) and Danielle Shoemake, Joseph III (Amanda) and Sarah Twiner, Rachel (Stephen) Stipelcovich, Chad (Christy) Treadaway, Simon (Patricia) Ronquillo III and Shane (Aimie) Treadaway; 19 great-grandchildren, Tyler Shoemake, Joseph Twiner IV, Kylie Washington, Kade and Ragen Twiner, Gracie and Julia Stipelcovich, Simon IV, Brendon, Connie and Patrick Ronquillo, Kaysie, Kyle and Katie Johnson, andAlexia, Joseph, Elizabeth, Stephen and Andrew Treadaway; brothers, Thomas and Levi III Twiner; and sisters, Lily Mae Hilderbrand, Emily Goode, Laura Twiner and Georgia Fielder.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Catalina Ragas Twiner; parents, Levi Jr. and Leona Leist Twiner; one grandchild, Ella Treadaway Johnson; two brothers, William and Marion Twiner; and two sisters, Elizabeth Langley and Martha Walker.

He is buried at Terrebonne Memorial.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association. (Chauvin)
