Josephine Valure Stringer, 87, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Friday, March 19, 2010.
Mrs. Stringer was a parishioner of St. Gregory Barbarigo Catholic Church, and a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughters, Gerianne (Steven) Schexnayder and Nancy (Ronnie) Duplantis, all of Houma; son, Willard (Audrey) Stringer Jr. of Franklinton; eight grandchildren, Rhonda Duplantis Baxter, Susan Duplantis, Bryan Duplantis, John Paul Stringer, Rebekah Stringer, Clinton Schexnayder, Samantha Schexnayder, Matthew Schexnayder; five great-grandchildren, Jacob Baxter, Kyle Baxter, Matthew Baxter, Jacob Duplantis and Claire Saia; and sisters, Mary Bergeron, Antionette Lirette, Frances Belanger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willard John Stringer Sr.; son, Anthony Stringer; parents Antonio and Nunzia Bongiovanni Valure; one grandchild, David Duplantis; and grandson-in-law, Richard Baxter.
She is buried at St. Elie Cemetery.
