Joyce Marie Reed, 67, a native of Ville Platte, La., and resident of Amelia, La., died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012.
Mrs. Reed was a parishioner of St. Andrew Catholic Church and a member of the Amelia Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to go dancing and spend time with her family. She enjoyed going to the casino cooking for her family.
She is survived by her children, Jeffery (Kerri), Wendell (Stephanie) and Schaun Reed; sisters, Jane LeJuene, Virgie Prejean, Barbara Soileau and Rosa Fontenot; brother, Harris Soileau; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Mazie Soileau; husband, Jeffery Reed; sisters, Hazie Bertrand and Nellie Soileau; and brothers, Larry Fontenot and Joseph and Francis Soileau.
Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, and 8 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24 at Twin City Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Amelia with entombment at St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. (Twin City)
