February 27, 2012Juanita Collins Polkey, 78, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and resident of Cut Off, La., died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Emile Polkey; sons, Gary (Joyce) and Troy (Lyndzee) Polkey; daughter, Denise (Randy) Plaisance; brother, Huey Collins; sisters, Virgis Cheramie, Melva Collins and Dorita Comardelle; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three step-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nat Sr. and Augustine Collins; and brother, Nat Collins Jr.
Burial was at Cheramie Cemetery. (Falgout)
