Tourney gives teams early look at competition
December 29, 2009Julia Guidry Esponge, 100, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and resident of Galliano, La., died at 8:32 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009.
Mrs. Esponge was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Gerline Vizier; five grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Provis Esponge; parents, Armond Sr. and Rosita Lee Guidry; daughter, Levinia Gisclair; brothers, Armond Jr., Andre and Louie Guidry; sisters, Celima Esponge, Angelina Anselmi, Donatile Johnfroe and Rosita Borne; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, and from 8 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, at Falgout Funeral Home. Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano.
She will be buried at Hebert Cemetery in Galliano.
