Julius J. Neil, 75,a native of Houma, La. and a resident of Chauvin, La., died Tuesday, May 19, at 2:32 p.m.


He is survived by, his companion, Linda Davis; daughters, Debra N. Cunningham and companion Keith Peters, sons, Dean Neil and wife Vivian Neil, Jacob Neil, Sr., and wife Lisa Neil and Jamie Neil and wife Sabrina Neil; sisters, Elaine N. Lapeyrouse, brothers, Ural and Thelma Neal, Leland and Emily Neil, Russell and Sally Neil; grandchildren: Rusty Neil and companion Sally Rebert, Jacob Neil, Jr., and wife Alex, Albert Neil, Amilia Neil and Gracie Neil; great-grandchildren: Austin Neil and Kenslee Neil and step-great-grandchildren, Christopher Mercer and Joshua Rebert.


He was preceded in death by, his parents, Albert and Beaulah Blanchard Neil; wife, Edia T. Neil; son-in-law, Kurt Cunningham, brother-in-law, Bernard Lapeyrouse.

He was the Honorary Curator of the Nicholls Sculpture Garden in Chauvin, La, a member of the Chauvin Senior Center, and member of the Woodmen of the World. He was a retired commercial fisherman.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 21, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 22, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin, La. with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
