Junius Joseph Foret, 87, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Chauvin, La., died at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2010.


Mr. Foret was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II.

He is survived by a son, Jerry (Regina) Foret; daughter, Evangeline Chaisson; brothers, Loney, O’Neal, Leroy and Robert “Bobby” Foret; sisters, Beatrice Gisclair, Eula Foret and Noticia Bunker; six grandchildren, Carlos (Eileen) Foret, Maria (Corey) Bourg, Gabriela and Eloisa Foret, Cody Ducet and Seth Chaisson; four great-grandchildren, Cathlen, Liam and Conner Foret, and Timothy Bourg; brother-in-law, Merlin (June) Lirette; and cousin, Rita Mae Falgout.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Lirette Foret; parents, Eugene and Sidolia Henry Foret; son, Timothy Foret; brothers, Jervis, Eulan, Harold and Murphy Foret; and sisters, Ouida LeCompte, Helen Naquin, Helena Forrest, Dorita Pierron, Odelia Sevin and Florence Chauvin.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, March 19, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin. Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the church.

He will be buried at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery in Chauvin.

Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of arrangements.
