Junius “Smokey” Johnson, 75, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Sunday, May 17. .


He is survived by two daughters, Doris Duncan and fiance’, Reginald White, of Thibodaux and Patricia Johnson and husband, Joseph Isaac of Boutte; two sons, Dwayne Duncan and wife, Valarie Henry, of Thibodaux, and James and Brenda Hills, of Labadieville; one brother, Clarence Johnson of Thibodaux; 28 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Nazareth and Agnes Johnson; his wife, Beatrice Duncan; two brothers, Oliver and Freddie Johnson; and three sisters, Estelle and Eunice Johnson and Julia Wilson.

He was a member of Old Fountain Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, May 23, at Moses Baptist Church will religious services to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery

Williams and Southall Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
