Sheriff’s ranges give public a new target

Kathryn Marie Simmons, 28, a native of Houma, La., and resident of New Orleans, La., died Monday, March 1, 2010.
Ms. Simmons was Baptist. She enjoyed singing.
She is survived by her parents, Edward Simmons Sr. and Kathey Patterson Polanco; son, Elijah Simmons; daughter, Victoria Simmons; brothers, Junius Patterson, and Christopher and Edward Simmons Jr.; and sisters, Cosette Lee and Cotrea Ruffin.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Junius Sr. and Eva Patterson, and Samuel and Juanita Simmons.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 8, at Community Funeral Home, and from 9 a.m. until noon Tuesday, March 9, at Howard Third Zion Baptist Church. A funeral will follow at noon at the church.
She is buried at St. Luke Cemetery in Waterproof.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
