Katie B. Fortner, 82, a native of Grand Isle, La., and a resident of Gray, La., died Monday, November 17, at 12:50 a.m.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynda and husband Bryan Price; brother, Ambrose Besson and wife Sis of Grand Isle; grandchildren, Chelsea and Casey Price; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Franklin Fortner Jr.; parents, Adrienne and Irma Terrebonne Besson; brothers, Hilton, Roscoe and Albert (Spider) Besson; and sister, Adrienne B. Bradberry.
She enjoyed sewing, canning and visiting friends and family. She was a member of Gray Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of South Louisiana at 6500 Main St. Houma, La., 70360.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, November 18, at Falgout Funeral Home’s Chapel. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 19, at Falgout Funeral Home with burial at St. Francis II Cemetery.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
