Kermit J. Folse, 55, a native of Raceland, La., and resident of Orlando, Fla., died Friday, Feb. 19, 2010.

Known as “Kermi” by friends, Mr. Folse had a passion for singing. His raspy Joe Cocker-style singing and “Blues Brothers” impersonations won numerous competitions. He hosted karaoke shows and was a DJ.


He is survived by his son, Troy Folse; brothers, Frederick and Kevin Folse; sister, Betty Guilbeau; two grandchildren, Trevor and Trista Folse; stepmother, Ella Jean Folse; and fiancée, Sandra Horne.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Noella Danos Folse.

He is buried at St. Mary’s Nativity Church Cemetery in Raceland.
