Larry William Doucet, 53, a native of Lafayette, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Monday, April 14, at 4 a.m.


He is survived by his companion, Denise Pellegrin of Houma; his former wife, Laurie Wilson Gautreaux; his mother, Stella Faunbrecher Doucet of Houma; son, Brad William Doucet of Houma; daughters, Christy Diggs and husband, Richard Diggs Jr., and Mimi Doucet and fiance, Ryan Folse, of Houma; brothers, Leonard William Doucet, Karl William Doucet and John William Doucet of Houma; sister, Gwen Orgeron of Houma; grandchildren, Brittany Lynn Diggs, Breianna Nicole Diggs, Richard Patrick Diggs III and Dylan Anthony Folse; and his nieces and nephews, Erik, Jordan, Dustin, Jayme and Spencer.


He was preceded in death by his father, James William Doucet.

He was a welder superintendent with PCM and was a loving father, grandfather and son who will be greatly missed. He was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 17, at Chauvin Funeral Home. The time of services on Friday are still incomplete.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
