Lena Hernandez

Lena Politz Meyer Hernandez, 85, a native and resident of Napoleonville, La., died at 1:20 a.m. Sunday, April 22, 2007.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Napoleonville. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

She is survived by five sons, Lee Meyer and wife, Sugar, Dutch Meyer and wife, Betty Lou, Glenn Meyer and wife, Linda, Lon Meyer and wife, Emily, and Earl Hernandez and wife, Maria; 10 grandchildren, Ricky, Tommy, Barbara, Jennifer, Jacob, Christopher, Judd and Katie Meyer, Brett and Garbrielle Hernandez; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Politz Triche and Rosemary Politz and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two infant daughters, Tina and Barbara Hernandez; one grandson, Ben Meyer; four sisters, Odette Barras, Rita Chauvin, Josie Maraist and Gloria Talbot; and two brothers, Sam and Henry Politz.

She was a devout Catholic and served her church throughout her life. She was a U.S. Army veteran.

She will be greatly missed by those who loved her.
