Lena Sanchez, 82, a resident of Thibodaux, La., died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010.
She is survived by her husband, Nelson Sanchez; daughters, Darlene Tabor, Cheryl (Herbert) Adams and Charlene Cortez; four grandchildren, George (Lesley) Sanchez, Laurie Adams, and Lena (Ryan) and Chelsea Cortez; and two great-grandchildren, Paighton and Kaighen Sanchez; stepchildren, Jody (Debra Lasseigne) and Shannah Sanchez, and Deanna (Johnny) Evans; five step-grandchildren, Stacy (Brett) Theriot, Nicole (Corey) Fields, Jediah and Jennifer Sanchez, and Meghan Tabor; and eight step-great-grandchildren, Mallory, Tyler, Blakley, Trey and Drake Fields, Shelby and Ava Grace Theriot, and Carson Tabor.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, George Joseph Sanchez; father, Elfer Tabor; mother, Dora Delatte Tabor; sister, Marie Tabor; and step-grandson, Chad Becnel.
She is buried at St. James Chapel Cemetery.
Her family would like to thank Dr. Dirk Ory and staff, Dr. James Schweitzer and staff, Southern Care Hospice staff, Tara Stringer, Tamara, Stephanie, Katie, Lee Ann, Sandy, Chaplain Joe, Thibodaux Regional Medical Center and staff, Acadian Ambulance and Thibodaux Funeral Home.
We want to thank everyone for being there for our family in our time of need. We know it wasn’t easy on you as well because of how close you all were to Mom, too. It meant so much to us. Thank you.
