June 15, 2011Leon Edward Bourgeois, 81, a native of Cut Off, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, June 8, 2011.
Mr. Bourgeois served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the American Legion and a lifetime member of the VFW. He was a retired boat captain and shrimper and an avid bowler. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He is survived by wife, Emma Bourgeois; sons, Ricky (Karen) and Barry (Nancy) Bourgeois; daughters, Belinda (Ritchie)Adams and Cindy (Randy) Collins; step-sons, Stuart (Toni), Druis (Angela) Jr. and Elliott (Rhonda) Dupre; step-daughters, Delinda (Ray) LeBoeuf, Madelyn Dupre, Joni (Gaylen) Bourg, Nadine Spence and Danette (Carlos) Alario; sister, Doris Kieffe; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; 19 step-grandchildren; and 23 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Martha Bourgeois Sr.; first wife, Betty Bourgeois; step-great-grandchild, Payton Spence; step-son-in-law, Arthur Tyrone Spence; and sisters, Lillian Brunet and Earline Pitre.
Burial was at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery. (Chauvin)
