Leon Joseph Trahan Jr., 76, a life-long resident of Bayou Black, La., died Tuesday, March 24.


He is survived by his wife, Anne Elizabeth Boudreaux Trahan; daughters, Carla T. Ellender and husband Paul Ellender of Bayou Black, and Patti T. Saam of Bayou Black; sister, Julia Currie of Metairie, La.; brother, Nelson Trahan of Bayou Black; grandchildren, Charles Aaron Page III and wife Amee’ Page, Ashleigh P. Simmons and husband James Simmons Jr., Erica Lea Page, Mitchell R. Saam Jr., and Alexander R. Saam and wife Angel Saam; and great-grandchildren, Jimmy Simmons III, Aidan Joseph Simmons, Evan Simmons, Alekzandra Saam and Kooper Saam.

He is preceded in death by Leon Trahan Sr. and Cecile Bergeron Trahan.


He was a retired sugarcane farmer and a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials or donations may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3897 Bayou Black Drive, Houma, La., 70360.

The funeral mass was Friday, March 27, at St. Anthony of Padua Church with burial at Bayou Black Cemetery.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
