Leonard “Coach Pre” Prean, 61, a native and resident of Belle Rose, La., died at Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center, Saturday, July 5.


He is survived by his wife, Thelma Bell Prean; one son, Adrian Prean of Gonzales, La.; one foster daughter, Ingrid Brown of Thibodaux, La.; one adopted daughter, Annisha Prean of Belle Rose; one brother, Milton Prean and wife, Mary, of Ewellville, La.; two sisters, Audrey Brooks of Belle Rose and Janice Thornton and husband, Earl, of Destrehan, La.; 10 grandchildren; and numerous relatives.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Kernell and Louise Prean; and one son, Leonard Prean.

He was a former assistant director of enforcement at the Louisiana Alcohol and Tobacco Control Office. He was assistant director and coach of the Donaldsonville Redskins football team and a volunteer coach at Belle Rose Middle School.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 11, at Greater Israel Baptist Church in Belle Rose. Wake service will be at 8 p.m. Friday at the church. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. He will be buried at the church cemetery.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home in Napoleonville, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
