Leota Dufren Bye, 85, a native of Gheens, La., and resident of Raceland, La., died at 8:10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6, 2010.


Mrs. Bye was a parishioner of St. Hilary Catholic Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Loretta (Roland) Breaux, Gwendolyn (David) Griffin and Shelby Adams; brother, Milton Dufren; sister, Eula Plaisance; four grandchildren, Rhonda (Jody) Mayet, Robin (Mitch) Guillot, Kevin (Jessica) Griffin and Steven (Lynn) Griffin; and four great-grandchildren, Jamie Guillot, Joseph Mayet, Brad Guillot and Joshua Griffin.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Willis Bye; parents, Sylvestre and Laticia Dufren; one daughter, Jacqueline Bye; four brothers, Clarence, Lawrence, Nacy and Norrie Dufren; and four sisters, Lorita Sampey, Enzy Fonseca, Eunice Orgeron and Vernus Dufren.

She is buried at Holy Savior Cemetery in Lockport, La.
