Leroy Bolt Sr., 80, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Sunday, December 21, at Audubon Guest House in Thibodaux.


He is survived by his wife, Beulah Bolt; two sons, Leroy Bolt and wife Rita and Michael Bolt and wife Melissa, all of Thibodaux; two daughters, Betty Marts and husband Morris and Patricia Johnson and husband Leonard, all of Thibodaux; one brother, Christopher Bolt of Thibodaux; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


He was preceded in death by his parents Christopher Bolt Sr. and Luella Bolt; four sisters, Rose Martin, Aldena Hawkins, Lulla Mae West and Irma Moton; and one brother Lawrence Bolt.

He was a self-employed carpenter, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Usher Board No. 1. His hobbies included fishing, watching television and Chicago Cubs baseball.

He was buried at Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
