Leroy Jean Brunet, 82, a native and resident of Theriot, La., died Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at 8:45 p.m.


He is survived by his two sons, Ronald Brunet and his wife Sharon and Anthony “Tony” Brunet and his wife Jane Ellen; four daughters, Theresa Liner and her husband Edward, Gail Bass and her husband Robert, Amanda LeBoeuf and her husband Don, and Darlene Grimes and her husband Rusty; three brothers, Ruby, Kirvie, and Ellie “Red” Brunet, Jr.; three sisters, Thelma Duplantis, Earline McElroy, and Emily Champagne; 15 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Theresa Comeaux Brunet; his parents, Ellis and Emily Champagne Brunet, Sr., three sons, Roy, Jerry, and Wade Brunet; two brothers, Earl and Russell Brunet; and two sisters, Brunella and Leona Brunet.

Visitation is Thursday, August 23, 2007, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Samart Funeral Home in Houma and Friday, August 24, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at St. Eloi Catholic Church in Theriot. He will be buried in the church cemetery.

Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
