Lester “Smiley” Serigny, 57, a native of Golden Meadow, LA. and resident of Larose, LA., died at 5:30 a.m. Friday, February 23, 2007.


Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off, LA. Religious service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with burial in Serigny Cemetery in Golden Meadow.


He is survived by one son, Lester Erwin Serigny; three daughters, Bianca Marie Serigny, Andrea Lynn Lafont and Crystal Dale Lafont; three brothers, George “Pete” Serigny, Roy Serigny and Richard Serigny; one sister, Eule Mae Dardar; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Buron and Blanche Dardar Serigny; and three brothers, Randolph Serigny, Mervin Serigny and Alton Wesley Sr.

He was a cook for Edison Schouest and was Catholic.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donation can be made to the American Cancer Society.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
