Lillian Bischoff Benton, 65, a native of New Branfels, Tx., and a resident of Houma, La., died at her home while surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with cancer at 1:05 p.m. Sunday, July 20.


She is survived by her husband, Jerry A. Benton of Houma; her mother, Elizabeth Breitschoff Bischoff; two sons, Jason Benton and wife, Stephanie, of Houma, and Seth Benton and wife, Aubrey, of Houma; two daughters, Robin Wurzel and husband, Barry, of Austin, Tx., and Holly Andrepont and husband, Rene’, of Austin; one sister, Peggy B. Simmons of Lufkin, Tx.; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.


She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Bischoff.

She was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Houma and a realtor with Patterson Real Estate for 22 years. Among her interest were reading (she was an avid reader with a love for words and trivia) and traveling. She was happiest when surrounded by family and friends.

Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, at Grace Lutheran Church with a memorial service to follow. A second memorial service will be held in New Branfels, her final resting place.
