Lillie Mae Carpenter Reed, 65, a native of Raceland, La., and a resident of Lafayette, La., died Tuesday, January 22, 2008.


She is survived by one daughter, Meosha Criswell of Lafayette; one brother, Leroy Williams Jr., of Baton Rouge, La.; and three sisters, Hilda DeBose and Dorothy Blanchard of Lafayette and Mercedes McClendon of Houma, La.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Hernell Reed; parents, Edna Williams and Levi Carpenter; one son, Kebba Wimbush; and one brother Michael Williams.

Lillie was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Good Hope, La. She loved singing and going to church.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2008 at Morning Star Baptist Church in Raceland with the funeral to follow. She will be buried in the church cemetery.

Kennedy Funeral Home of Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
