BISCO director weighs in on ‘English only’ proposal

Linda Marie Cargill, 60, a native of New Orleans, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, July 16, at 8 a.m.
She is survived by hr sons, David A. Trahan and wife Beth, Shane M. Trahan and companion Nikki, and James D. Trahan and wife Shelly; brother, Danny Cargill; sisters, Debbie Cargill and Anna Hall; and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, J.D. Cargill and Dee Dee Picou; son, John P. Trahan Jr.; and brothers, James D. and Thomas R. Cargill.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 20 at Samart Funeral Home of Houma and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, July 21, at First Baptist Church of Houma with the funeral to follow. She will be buried at St. Francis #2 Cemetery in Houma.
Samart Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
