Lois LeBlanc Gouaux, 74, a native of Morse and a resident of Lockport, La., for 54 years, died at Oschner St. Anne General Hospital in Raceland, La., Wednesday Feb. 13, 2008, at 2 p.m.

She is survived by her children, Madonna and Gregory McDonald of Slidell, La., Jennifer and Art Scott of Orlando, Fl., and Bernard M. and Robbi Gouaux of Patterson, La.; grandchildren, Daniel P. Jimenez, Lindsay C. McDonald, Benjamin R. McDonald, Joshua P. Gouaux, Jaret T. Gouaux, Jonathan B. Gouaux, Hayley E. Gouaux, Brennan T. Gouaux, Madison N. Gouaux; sister and brother-in-law, Beverly A. and Melton Mixon of Sugar Land, Tx.; brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd “Tiger” LeBlanc and Phyllis LeBlanc of Erath, La.; brother, Emary J. LeBlanc of Crowley, La.; and numerous nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Lota and Bernard LeBlanc; sister and brother-in-law, Verna B. and Paul Lyons; and brother, Roland L. LeBlanc.


She was a graduate of St. Michael’s High School in 1951. She also attended Hotel Dieu School of Nursing in New Orleans and graduated in 1954 after having met the requirements of the Louisiana State Board of Nursing to become a registered nurse. She worked many years in long-term facilities in Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes. She was a school nurse for the Lafourche Parish School Board for 12 years. She attended Holy Savior and St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic churches.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Daniel P. Jimenez, Benjamin McDonald, Joshua P. Gouaux, Jared T. Gouaux, Jonathan B. Gouaux, Brennan M. Gouaux and Chris Scott.

Our family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the entire staff of St. Anne’s Hospital and the Hospice of South Louisiana for all their professionalism, love and kindness.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 16, 2008, at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley followed by a Rosary prayer. Mass will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, 2008, at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. She will be buried at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
