Loridia Josephine Adams Bernard, 87, a native and lifelong resident of Larose, La., died Saturday, August 16, at 2:08 a.m.


She is survived by her daughters Mary Bernard Davaine and Annie Bernard Gaudet; sons-in-law, Joseph “Joe” Davaine and Ronald Gaudet; grandson Joey Davaine and his companion Kathy Dantin; grandson Jase Davaine, his companion Missy Womack and their son Dillon Womack; granddaughters Katina and Kelly Gaudet; and sisters, Ida and Rita Naquin.


She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Emile “Sauce” Bernard; her parents, Lucien and Marie Orgeron Adams; brothers, Lucien Jr., Whitney, Sidney and Taylor Adams; and sisters, Cora Ledet and Annie Danos.

She worked the plantation fields as a young child, cutting sugarcane and picking cotton to help support her family. She left farm life to begin her own family, which brought her much joy. She loved her family above all else and is much loved by them. She is already and will forever be missed. She was a homemaker and a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Larose.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church with mass to follow. She will be buried at the church cemetery.

Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
