Local lawmakers’ pre-filings a mixed bag
March 25, 2010Louis P. “Smitty” Smith Jr., 63, a native of Galliano, La., and resident of Larose, La., died at 2:45 p.m. Monday, March 15, 2010.
Mr. Smith was Catholic.
He is survived by his wife, Cathy P. Smith; daughters, Nicole (Rueben) Williams and Michelle (Jared) Melancon; sisters, Ann Vizier, Corinne Henderson and Kate Verdin; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis P. and Elrita Lafont Smith; brother, John Smith; and sister Joycelyn Charpentier.
Donations in Mr. Smith’s honor to Haydel Memorial Hospice, Adore Ministries or Friends for the Future are appreciated.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 20, at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Larose. Mass will follow at noon at the church.
He will be buried at Our Lady of the Rosary Church Cemetery in Larose.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.
