Luby Joseph Freeman Jr., 77, a native and resident of Houma, La., died at 2 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2012.


Mr. Freeman was a parishioner of St. Louis Catholic Church. He was a butcher for Autin Packing Company and Offshore Food Service and the current manager of Terminal 005’s United Vision. He was an honorary member of the Bayou Blue Fire Department and Houma Shrine Club and was a Mason and member of the Elks Lodge, The Grottos and the Lion’s Club.


He is survived by his companion, Dot Boudreaux; sons, Luby III and Larry Sr. Freeman; daughter, Carrie (Bryant Sr.) Hebert; brother, Lloyd Freeman; sister, Linda Hidalgo; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luby Sr. and Laura Freeman; ex-wife, Rachael Haydel; and brother, Lawrence Freeman.

Burial was at St. Louis Catholic Church Cemetery. (Chauvin)
