Luby was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Ann Catholic Church in Bourg, La.

Luby was a loving and gentle man who was very well loved by his family. He was quiet and led by example. He enjoyed nothing more than family gatherings that included eating and laughing and grandchildren running around him. Luby’s greatest love was his wife Gladys, who was with him only minutes before God called him home. He was surrounded by his children when he took his last peaceful breath on this Earth. He died like he had lived, with honor and dignity. His children will remember him for is selflessness, his humility, and always putting others needs above his own. By example he taught his children the greatest lessons of graciousness, acceptance, pride, and hard work.

Luby was a retired crew boat captain and a life long resident of Chauvin. He was an Army Veteran, who served his country during World War II. He will be missed each and everyday. We feel only the pride for having known him and the time he was in our lives. Thank you God for giving us the blessing of our dear Father, Luby Paul Pellegrin.
