Luke C. Falterman, 86, a native of Napoleonville, La., and a resident of Paincourtville, La., died Monday, June 2.

He is survived by his sons, John Falterman of Napoleonville, David Falterman of Paincourtville, Louis Falterman of Gonzales, La., and Stephen Shipp of Missouri; daughters, Tisa Falterman of Thibodaux, La., Cynthia F. Rabalais of Houma, La., Pamela F. Day of Prairieville, La., Mary F. Cavalier of Pierre Part, La., Kathryn V. Thurmond of Missouri and Kitty M. Bretz of Napoleonville; sister, Annie Laurie F. Thibodaux of Kenner, La.; 10 grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; nine nieces; and 13 nephews.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Therese’ Falterman; his former wife, Mary S. Falterman; his parents, Luke and Laura Hebert Falterman; sons, Luke E. Falterman and baby boy Falterman; daughters, Susan Falterman and baby girl Falterman; brothers, Monroe, Aubrey, Enoch and Philip Falterman; sisters, Leone F. Thibodaux, Irene F. Talbot, Sarah F. Garrison, Carrie F. Hebert, Mamie Falterman, LouElla F. Brown and Angeline F. Lasseigne; and grandchildren, Reese J. Rabalais, Job Day and Patrick J. Cavalier Jr.

Visitation will be 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, June 5, and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, June 6, at Landry’s Funeral Home in Napoleonville with mass to follow at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Paincourtville. He will be buried at the church cemetery.

Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
