She is survived by her only child, Ralph J. Chauvin of Houston and wife, Jacqueline; three grandchildren, Todd, Mark and Cathy Chauvin; five great-grandchildren, David, Sarah, Jasper, Joseph and Michael Chauvin; one brother, Eugene Champagne of Theriot; and one sister, Virgie Lee LeBeouf of Houma.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Noicia and Eugene Champagne; and her beloved husband of more than 50 years, Lowell J. Chauvin.

When her only son was newly born, she brought lunch to her husband as he drove pilings for the St. Francis de Sales Cathedral in Houma. During the Second World War she lived in New Orleans, La. and supported her husband as he built torpedo and ramp boats at Higgins Industries. Returning to Houma in the 50s and 60s she became an award winning Avon representative and was well liked. Following that and prior to their retirement in Houma she lived in San Leon, Texas, while her husband trawled for shrimp and dredged for oysters in Galveston Bay.

She was loved and admired by all, especially her many nieces and nephews and her family, who will miss her greatly.

She was a parishioner of Annunziata Catholic Church.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
