Mable Pitre Malbrough, 88, a resident of Chauvin, La. and a native of Montegut, La., died at 5:15 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 2007.


Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 to 2 p.m. Thursday at Knights of Columbus Hall Chauvin. A mass will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Church in Chauvin. Burial will be in Dugas Cemetery in Montegut.

She is survived by her sons, Gerald Blanchard and wife, Beatrice, Cyrus Blanchard and companion, Terry, and Donald P. Malbrough; her daughters, Pat Sampey and husband, Whitney Sr., Juanita “Poochie” Malbrough, and Cecile Neil; 23 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; and 31 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward P. Malbrough; her parents, Ellis and Ernestine Cunningham Pitre; two grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Genevieve Blanchard Turner; her daughters, Nancy Lee Blanchard and two infant daughters; her son-in-law, Cleveland “Flapps” Neil; and her sisters, Bessie Pitre Domangue and Viola Pitre.
