Marguerite Hoffmann Norris, 68, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La. died Tuesday, November 13, 2007, at 11:54 p.m.


She is survived by one daughter, Angela Crighton and her husband Alexander III; two stepdaughters, Leigh Chandler and her husband Mike and Laura Fisher and her husband Chris; one brother, John Hoffmann and his wife Mollie; three step-grandchildren, Clint Chandler, Clay Chandler, and Callie Fisher; one niece, Janis A. Shearer; and two nephews, Lee F. and Stuart J. Hoffmann.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George O. Norris III; her parents, Camile and Marguerite Pierson Hoffmann; and her grandparents, Arthur and Zoe Hoffmann and John and Emily Pierson.


Marguerite retired in May 1997 from Nicholls State University English Department.

Visitation is Saturday, November 17, 2007, 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral in Thibodaux. She will be buried in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the food bank and Hope for Animals.

Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
