Maria Gomez Martinez, 86, a native of Mexico and a resident of Houma, La., died at 5:55 a.m. Thursday, July 24.
She is survived by two sons, Johnny Martinez, and wife Paula; and Tony Martinez, and wife Pam; 19 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose Martinez, her parents, Jesus and Manuela Cisneros Gomez; two daughters, Rosie Garza and Leonor “Lonie” Aldape; two brothers, Philip Gomez and JuJu Gomez; and one sister, Charvella Cisneros.
In lieu of flowers, donations to help with funeral expenses are preferred.
She was buried at Grace Christian Memorial Gardens.
Samart Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
