Marie Chiasson Panvelle, 90, a native of Chackbay, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Friday, Jan. 31, 2014.
Mrs. Panvelle was a parishioner of St. Joseph Co-Cathedral Catholic Church. She loved her family, playing cards, crocheting, bingo, gardening and fishing. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her son, Curtis Panvelle; daughters, Mary (Raymond Jr.) Westerman and Susan (Ted) Menge; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Henry Vedros; second husband, Robert Panvelle Sr.; parents, Anicet and Olivia Chiasson; son, Robert Panvelle Jr.; brother, Fernand Chiasson; and sisters, Louise Clement, Laura LeBlanc, Agnes Gauthe and Cecilia Chiasson.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 4, at Thibodaux Funeral Home Chapel and 8 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral with mass to follow. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. (Thibodaux)
