Marie Concetta Lusco Foret, 95, a native and resident of Lockport, La., died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010.


Ms. Foret was a member of the VFW and the first president of the American Legion Post No. 349 in 1954. She was a parishioner of Holy Savior Catholic Church and a professional businesswoman.

She is survived by her son, Robert “Bobby” (Edna) Foret; daughter, Mary Ann (Fernand Jr.) Dufrene; daughter-in-law, Marie Foret; four grandchildren, Kent Foret, Fernand III and Ryan Dufrene, and Keli Melancon; five great-grandchildren, Lee Foret, Candace and Troy Jr. Melancon, Lianna Blanchard and Ross Dufrene; and two great-great-grandchildren, Aubrey Sampey and Bailey Foret.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Foret; one son, William “Billy” Foret; one granddaughter, Allison Ann Dufrene; parents, Vincent and Annette Saia Lusco; brothers, Frank Sam, Vincent Jr. and Joe Sr. Lusco; and sisters, Frances Bruno, Sarah Ledet and Rosa Lusco.

She is interred at Holy Savior Catholic Church Cemetery.
