Marina A. Galliano, 95, a native of Mexico and resident of Galliano, La., died at 6:25 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, 2011.


Mrs. Galliano was employed as a cook at Galliano Elementary School. She was a longtime employee at Lady of the Sea General Hospital, starting the year after the old Lady of the Sea was built, where she continued to work until the 1980s. She was a devoted Christian who diligently served the Lord all the days of her life. She was loved by her numerous friends, her family here and in Mexico.


She is survived by her daughter, Lupe Autin; sister, Victoria Aviles; three grandchildren, Jason, Joshua and Jacob Autin; and numerous nieces and nephews in Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Eddie Authement; second husband, Ferris Galliano; parents, Cornelia and Mecaela Aviles; one son-in-law, Jim Autin; and one sister, Maria Aviles.

She is buried at Cheramie Cemetery. (Samart-Mothe)
