Mark “Killer” Kellar, 42, a native of Lyons, NY, and a resident of Chackbay, La., died at his home after a courageous two-year fight with cancer Sunday, March 1. Jesus has called him home.


He is survived by his wife, Anissa Peltier Kellar; mother, Nancy Hamm Kellar; brother, Dean Kellar and wife Bobbie Lucas Kellar; aunts and uncles, Rose Cloutier of Thibodaux, La., Richard Hamm, Dawn Wunder, Calvin Hamm and Jimmy Hamm, all of New York State, and Mary Pearl of Oklahoma; father-in-law, Rodney Peltier; mother-in-law, Dianne Bonvillain Peltier; brothers and sisters-in-law, Darrel Peltier Sr. and wife Joan, Jason Peltier and Shelly Peltier Delatte and husband Mark; godson, Darrel Peltier Jr. and wife Casey; nieces, Crissy, Dawn, Whitney, Solange, Katie and Amelia; one great-niece; and one great-nephew.

He was preceded in death by his father, Manford Kellar; grandparents, Claude and Anna Kellar, Russell and Mildred Hamm; uncles, Russell Hamm Jr. and Raymond Hamm; and aunts, Barbara Debout and Shirley Giroux.


He was a 1984 Thibodaux High School graduate. His last employment was with QPL Inc. He was a past member of South Thibodaux and St. John Fire departments and loved working with his community. Those that knew him loved him. He was a man of many talents. His wife will always remember him as her “Renaissance Man”. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.

A celebration of his life will be held at his home later in the week.

Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
