May 12, 2011Martha Singleton Joseph, 91, a native of Morgan City, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Saturday, April 30, 2011.
Mrs. Joseph was a member of Magnolia United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Lillian Joseph; sons, Alvin (Marion) and Isaiah (Viola) Joseph; sister, Dorothy Bolden; stepdaughter, Elizabeth Stanley; sisters-in-law, Louise Singleton and Ruby Joseph Alkamakpe; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Joseph; parents, Willie and Celestine Singleton; one son, Melvin Joseph; one stepdaughter, Elise Rounds; one stepson, Chester Joseph Jr.; four brothers, Joe, Arthur, William and Herbert Singleton; and five sisters, Annie Dardar, Mary Bailey, Sarah Ruffin, Beatrice Tyler and Rosetta Rener.
She is buried at Blue Lily Cemetery. (Kennedy)
