Marvin J. Gervais, 75, a native and resident of Raceland, La., died at 8:47 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009.


Mr. Gervais was a parishioner of St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church.


He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Betty Folse Gervais; sons, Werly (Sue) and Jimmy (Lena) Gervais; daughters, Tammy (Patrick) Knight, Judith (Thomas) Bergeron and Lynette (Michael) Hartman; brothers, Tracy and Houston Gervais Jr.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Houston Sr. and Clotilde Gervais; and brothers, Harry, Bryan and Kenneth Gervais.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at St. Hilary of Poitiers Catholic Church in Raceland. Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at the church.

He will be buried at St. Mary Cemetery in Raceland.
