Mary Barker LeBlanc, 83, a native of Clotilda Plantation in Lockport, La., and a resident of Napoleonville, La., died Wednesday, September 10.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, J. Clay LeBlanc of Napoleonville; two sons, Joseph “Joey” LeBlanc III and wife Phyl, and Charles “Chucky” LeBlanc and wife Bambi; two daughters, Mary “Betsy” Cancienne and husband Ed, and Frances “Frannie” Moore and husband Derland; ten grandchildren, Summer B. LeBlanc, Patrick Cancienne III and wife Jeanne, Mary Elizabeth Bernhardt and husband Tom, Camille Cancienne, Michelle Wells and husband Sean, Chip Moore and wife Courtney, Brad Moore, Chase LeBlanc, Michael LeBlanc and Lauren LeBlanc; four great-grandchildren, Patrick Cancienne IV, John Clay Cancienne, Mary Elizabeth Bernhardt and Bailor Wells; one sister, Antoinette B. Lanigan; and one brother, John William Barker.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Florence Vizard Barker; one sister, Florence B. Foret; and two brothers, Frank Barker and T.M. Barker.

She was a retired educator of Assumption Parish School Board. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was buried at St. Anne Catholic Church Cemetery in Napoleonville.
